Eurythmy and the seven arts

Presentation and Performance

This presentation and performance places the movement art of Eurythmy in the context of the Classical Arts, and explores how the artistic principles of Architecture, Sculpture and Painting are to be found in the structural principles of Eurythmy itself.

Workshop

This workshop focuses on the movement art of Eurythmy in the context of the Classical Arts, and explores how the artistic principles of Architecture, Sculpture and Painting are to be found in the structural principles of Eurythmy itself.

Possible workshop lengths can vary from 2 to 6 hours.

A story and performance for younger children. This program tells the story of the Princess and the Pea set to music by French composers Debussy and Ravel.

1) the functional morphology of the human form and its relationship to artistic principles in Art History;

2) the music of vowels/the sculpture of consonants in the human larynx, and their outward expression in Speech Eurythmy;

3) projective geometry and the architecture of stage space as a door into social space;

4) parallels of form and color use in Renaissance and Impressionist masterpieces;

5) artistic principles of American Geography and their lawful correspondences in American Art.
